Due to unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances that only came to light a few days after Christmas, the Lanco Awards Banquet was forced to switch venues. The annual gala that celebrates the top point-earners and special award winners from the previous season at Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway will now be held at the Crowne Plaza Reading on Saturday, January 12 (the date remains the same as originally scheduled).

The banquet’s time schedule is also unchanged, with doors opening at 4:45 p.m. Dinner will begin at 5:30, with the awards ceremony set to go green at approximately 7:00. Dancing and socializing will follow the awards.

The Crowne Plaza Reading is located at 1741 Papermill Road, Reading, PA 19610.

The Lanco Micro Midget Racing club asks all its members to assist in spreading the word about the change in banquet sites, as more than 225 tickets had already been sold before the untimely switch was forced upon the Banquet Committee. Those holding tickets need to be informed of the switch in venues, and the club is making every effort to communicate the information to ticket-holders.

Heath Hehnly (600cc); Mike Rutherford (270cc); Toby Blumenshine (Sportsman); Cliff Brian Jr. (250cc Four-Stroke); and Kyler Heiney (125cc) will be feted for their 2018 point championships, along with the top 15 in each division’s standings. The Rookies of the Year, Most Improved Drivers, Hard Luck Drivers, Sportsman of the Year, and Best Appearing Car Award winners will also be announced at the banquet on January 12. Drivers collecting point money/trophies must be present in order to get their awards.
